*** FANTASTIC COMPANION DOG ! *** ** AVAILABLE for FOSTER-TO-ADOPT !! ** 'LUCY' is a 4 yr old, 70 lb., female Labrador Retriever mix we rescued from a high kill pound. Lucy had been a stray and had been picked up by animal control and never claimed. Lucy has been in foster care since rescued, and per her foster, Lucy is such a nice dog and great companion. She walks well on a leash and loves to share a couch with you, but other dogs seem to make her nervous and agitated, which may be lingerings of uncertainty from her stray days. Lucy takes re-direction really well, so a quick 'tug' on the leash, and she shifts focus back to you. An ideal home would be with a person who enjoys a leisurely walk from time to time, and spending time with a nice canine companion, out in their fenced in yard. Lucy has never been around children, so we are not sure how she would react with kids. She has also not been 'cat-tested. LUCY is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, micro-chipped, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
