About Russell

Russell became my best friend at the age of 14 and for the last six years he's always been the most important part of my life. He's originally from Arizona but for a time he lived in Ohio with me because we moved and actually drove all the way there so he's very well behaved and calm in cars and especially on long drives. When we first moved to Ohio his allergies that developed were not that bad and actually really manageable with medications and not going outside to roll around in the grass, that's what we figured he was allergic to without doing a test to figure out. Being allergic to grass in a state full of it after coming from a place in Arizona with none was difficult, and it got to be where we could barely manage it with medications. I mean it was horrible to watch him scratch himself until he bled, so coming up with the decision to send him to Arizona to live with a family member who was willing to take care of him was not an easy one for me, but I wanted him to live the best life he could. He's lived a very happy life with my aunt and her female dogs, he made puppies for the first time and is healthy, but now as my aunt has decided to keep of their male puppies and he's grown Russell and the pup don't get along well because Russell's always had a problem with male dogs. I'm making this post in the hopes of finding my dog who's been the biggest support I had growing up a new family who can love him and take care of him until his last days. He's an incredibly sweet dog, he loves to cuddle and give kisses and sometimes he might jump and be too excitable so a home without really little children would be best. Russell is good with children though, my aunt actually has four teen boys and he's great with them. He's also good with female dogs but he's not fixed so probably best in a home without other dogs, and he's not mean to cats but he tends to play aggressively by using paws to step on or chase a cat. He needs someone who's willing to look past his few flaws and just love him.
