About Lil Bit

Adoption Fee: $300
Chihuahua
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Lil Bit is a 7 year old, 6 pound Chihuahua who was surrendered to us by his owner who became ill and is no longer able to care for him. Lil Bit is a very sweet boy with a big personality! He is very loving, barks for food, and he gets so excited to see you when you come home that he does zoomies! He loves to be held and is a big fan of belly rubs. Lil Bit seems to be potty trained, and knows how to use a doggie door. If he cannot get out the doggie door he will bark to let you know he needs to go outside. He has mastered the doggie steps to the big bed in his foster home, but he does not prefer to sleep in the big bed at the moment. He prefers to snuggle up in a doggy bed at night. Lil Bit gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is not good with kids and is very unsure of men. He will bark and growl at them until he is comfortable with them, but even then he would be happiest in a home with a female only. Treats are the way to his heart and can help bring him around but it will take some time and patience. Lil Bit walks well on a leash but does require a fenced yard. According to his former owner, he is not good about recognizing boundaries and will chase cars. He would likely be fine as an only dog as long as he was getting lots of love and attention from his person, but he does enjoy the company of other dogs. Lil Bit has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, heartworm tested, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled at our vet soon and is covered by the rescue. If you would like to give this little sweetheart a home please submit an adoption application for review.
