About Frank

: We have a German shepherd/black lab mix we have taken from a neglectful situation. Unfortunately, we can only act as a temporary foster while trying to find a suitable home for him. He is around 2 years old, neutered, and heart worm Positive pending an upcoming appointment to check his status. Frank is a sweet boy, with a few issues and is in need of an adopter who has time to train him and had an understanding of his behavioral issues. He gets very anxious, has some collar aggression, and aggression toward other dogs from lack of socialization. We have found that he can be good with other dogs in a controlled environment and with a gradual meeting between the dogs. He is great with cats but we don't think he would be suited for a home with kids as his aggression can sometimes be unpredictable. This is the main reason we are unable to keep him as we have a 10 month old. Frank is very sweet, and while the situation we have him in now is way better than the situation he was in - we still need to find him a forever home. He has come along way behavior wise from where he started but still needs consistency and work. He is crate trained and seems to feel very safe in his crate. He isn't awesome on leash but he isn't awful either. He runs every night with my husband and that definitely keeps some of his issues at bay.
