ROCKY Modesto, CA Rocky was saved from Craigslist in October 2020. The post said that if someone did not take Rocky that day the owners would be putting him to sleep. A team of volunteers, Rocky's guardians, including Tara Morrison (one of the key Modesto shelter volunteers) - saved his life. Rocky has been with a temp foster since October 2020. Sadly, the foster is no longer able to keep Rocky, so he is Modesto shelter bound any day now. Rocky needs RESCUE ASAP! Key facts about Rocky: -9 years old -60-65 lb -Neutered/microchipped; not up-to-date on shots -Loves people (no young kids though, Rocky needs peace and rest) -Gets along well with medium/large dogs if they don't jump on him (again, Rocky likes peace and rest) -No small dogs in household -Sometimes Rocky is possessive with toys; NOT possessive with food/treats (ok to share food with other dogs) -No major known health issues (bad hips and some anxiety - probably due to lost family/home/instability) Rocky loves to just hang out in the backyard, lay in the sun and relax. He was an outside dog his whole life; however, he no longer likes to be outside all the time, especially in the cold. Rocky needs stability, consistency and some training. Most of all, he needs LOVE; he needs to feel that someone wants him and cares about him. He has been through a lot.
