About Koa

Hi! My name is Koa, a roughly 8-10 year old German Short Hair Pointer-Red Heeler mix. I was left at a shelter in Maui with no explanation of my history, then adopted about 5 years ago in Portland, OR. I'm truly one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you will ever meet! While I am consistently very sweet with people I am not always sure about other dogs and cats are a no-go. My family has helped me with my anxiety with dogs but it is best if I do not interact directly with them. I'm mostly well mannered on a leash and wear a Halti to keep me from pulling too hard when I'm excited. I'm a great running partner and love taking neighborhood walks or hikes, sniffing along leisurely. My perfect forever home would be one without children - I love them, but I need ALL of the love and attention and more exercise than I am likely to get with a busy family's schedule. This is why I am looking for a new home - I am loved but feeling sidelined by an energetic toddler. Will you be my forever home?
