About Wookie

This big, handsome boy is Wookie who just became available for adoption! He is a beautiful and kind pup who would love to find a forever home with plenty of space for him to run and play. He is a 75 lb (with more growing to do), 1 year old Great Pyrenees who has been raised as a family pet, not a livestock guardian (so that is how we are looking to place him). He recently came to us as an owner surrender after his family could no longer care for him through no fault of his own. Wookie's groomer is who brought him to our care and she raves about him, which is huge because when a dog is good for the groomer, they are often pretty much bomb proof! Wookie definitely fits that description as he will let you do just about anything to him with a big smile on his face. He loves humans of all ages, but he's a rambunctious puppy so young children must either be able to move out of the way or be okay being tackled by a very big dog (only with love of course)! Wookie is housebroken, crate trained, and while he has lived with a cat previously and done well with other dogs with the groomer, we feel he'd be happiest as the only pet in the home. If we are unable to find a solo pet home for him in the next few weeks we will consider opening applications for families with other pets on a case by case basis.
