About Mango

Meet Mango! He's a male Shiba Inu/Jindo mix that's 3 year old and weighs about 62 pounds. Mango came to us as an owner surrender from a family who loved him, but couldn't give him the structure, boundaries, and rules needed for this unique breed. We often find that love is well-intended, but respect is a two way street between the dog and the human. In order to achieve balance and harmony in the house, space must be respected. Mango has been rehabilitating with our KK9R team in NYC for the past 5 months. He possesses traits of both the Shiba and Jindo breeds: he's loyal, intelligent, happy-go-lucky, quirky, athletic, playful, and affectionate - Mango has it all! He loves being around humans and communicating with his dramatic body language! He also loves being outdoors, doing urban parkour, and running beside us on the bike. Mango can thrive in the right forever home! He would do best in an adult only household with no other pets. His adopter should provide a structured schedule, lots of exercise, and a respectful partnership with him. Additionally, Mango's adopter should have previous experience with dogs and be very committed to continued training and rehabilitation.
