About Daffodil

Well, we have a big surprise for both y'all and all of us at POPs... This new girl of ours, Daffodil, who we rescued just a little over a week ago from CHS is such a sweetie! We believe her to be a Hound Mix and around 2 years old. She has the cutest black and white speckles on her chest and paws and is roughly 45 lbs. We've gotten her up to date on her vaccines but unfortunately, she is heartworm positive so she will need to go through treatment in the future. We originally thought this was the end Daffodil's 'medical discoveries' but little did we know what we would find out this morning... Daffodil went to the vet this morning to be spayed. What we thought would be a simple, routine procedure we have done on all of our female dogs turned out to be a massive surprise... Daffodil is pregnant and is due in little over a month!!! With the 13 puppies from Sofia's litter, we had no intention of taking in a pregnant dog since we currently don't have enough resources, homes, or time to take care of two litters. In addition, Daffodil being heartworm positive puts a lot of stress on not only her but also her puppies. And we only want the best for this sweet girl and her growing babies.
