About Pogo

'Hello! My name is Pogo and I'm a 1-2 year old Beagle boy that is looking for a very special furever home. Do you think that you have what it takes to be my perfect match? Read some more and I'll cross my paws that we can be bffs! So, let's chat about me, shall we? At just over 1 year old, I have been through several homes and it's not just because I love to meet new people (which I do, by the way!) I was born at a popular puppy mill and found my way to a local pet shop, where my first owner bought me. I was then rehomed and rehomed again, before landing at SVASC. Soon after my arrival, my wonderful foster dad stepped up to help get me back on the right path. Since staying with him, staff have been learning a lot about my behavior and are starting to get a good idea of what kind of home that I will need. According to my foster dad, I am quite the houdini and can escape any crate, jump any baby gate, and climb any fence. My future family will need a secure containment system in place for me. The good news is that once I'm lose, I'm not destructive and really just want to be with my person. I'm really not keen on being confined to a kennel and have a Beagle cry that puts most Beagles to shame. Because of that, I may not be a great fit for an apartment or a home with close neighbors. Still with me? Great! Now on to the good stuff! I really like other dogs and am living with several in my foster home. I would do great in a home with a lowkey, go with the flow kind of dog. I can be a tad protective of 'my' things, so please keep that in mind. I would do best in a home without kids because I can be protective of stuff that I think is mine. I am wonderful with my foster dads cats and poultry, though! I can be a bit slow to warm up to new folks, but stick it out because I am a loving, enthusiastic fella once you get to know me.
