About Betty

Loving, sweet & aaffection, Ladies & gentleman meet our gorgeous baby girl #Betty. You may remember her from when we trapped her off 696 freeway and boy has she come a long way. Betty is a 4 year old Lab/Beagle mix and weighs around 40lbs. Betty enjoys long snuggles on the couch, but also enjoys her daily walks and absolutely loves car rides. When walking with her if she sees another dog and their human she will sit by your feet unsure of what to do. We have just been encouraging her to keep walking. She loves her humans and is always by someone's side. Betty will cuddle with you on the couch or lay by your feet. Betty craves human companionship from her human's and just loves her belly rubs. She will get up from her cuddles and let you know when it is time to potty. Betty is pretty much perfect, but her biggest flaw is that she's very protective of her foster family and we have had some instances where she has tried to nip at guests as they walked by- Even when they have been in the house for a while. Betty would thrive best in a quiet home without a lot of commotion and very little foot traffic in and out of the house with new people. Betty can be a little skittish at first, but warms up pretty quickly. Betty is 100% potty trained & great on a leash. She does phenomenal with other dogs that are laid back, good with older kids & ignores cats. Betty does not do well in a crate, but does great with free roam of the house. Adoption #Requirements: No Exceptions - Fenced in Yard Required that is 5ft tall or higher- No Exceptions - No Kids Under 13 - Betty would thrive best in a quiet home without a lot of commotion and very little foot traffic in and out of the house with new people. Betty is currently up for adoption through Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue. Her adoption fee is $350 & will include his distemper, rabies, bordetella, parvo, & lepto vaccines; deworming; microchip; heartworm test; fecal test & being fixed. Betty is currently on both flea & tick, as well as heartworm prevention. Betty is currently being fostered within the metro Detroit area. With our rescue being based in the Metro Detroit area, all prospective adopters must live within the state of Michigan (which means No out of state adoptions). Please remember we are not a shelter and are 100% foster based. Once you submit your application, it may take up to 2 weeks for us to get back to you. So please be patient with us. Again, we kindly ask that you please read the entire post to answer your questions. If you cannot follow the instructions properly, we will skip your application and move onto the next one. We kindly ask that you save any questions, comments or concerns for the phone interview. We kindly ask the following: No phone calls, No pm's, & No multiple emails- We are all volunteers and promise to get back to you within a timely fashion! Lending A Helping Paw Dog Rescue; previously known as the PRO-PET-OTIC Foundation, is a 100% Foster-Based Rescue that is ran by all Volunteers. Which means that we are not a shelter & each animal is in an actual home with a foster family. We kindly ask that you put any questions within the email & our team of Volunteers will get back to you. The application MUST BE filled out, a Vet Check MUST BE completed by our team, as well as a phone interview before we do a 'Meet N Greet.' Once you have completed the application, please print it out, fill it out, scan it, & then email it back to [email protected]. If you do not have a scanner, please take a picture with your phone and we kindly ask that you sent all attachments into one email. 3. Please make sure to call your vet to grant our organization permission to do a vet check on your current pet. 4. If you are interested in more than one dog, please list your top 3 choices on the completed application. 5. Please be honest & truthful on your application. We always do a vet Check. We always do a home visit. And we always have both the prospective families & dogs best interest at heart!
