About Roo

Adoption Fee: $450
Chihuahua / Pug
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hey there! My name is Roo and I'm a 3 yo, Chi x Pug mix. - I'm a sweet boy who can be the absolute best companion and sweet little boy, with structure and proper socialization. - I love everyone I meet on the streets!!! I whine to say hi to them and if I get to say hi, I jump around and get soooo excited to see them!!!! Once I build trust with you, I'm super cuddly and will wanna be all over you. - I get excited and become very playful and fun, although I can play rough/mouthy, so a home without small children would be better. I also LOVE pets and scratchies.... you'll know I'm warming up to you when I roll over and offer you my belly to scratch forever. - I am really comfortable sleeping in my crate all night long and find it more safe in there. - I am a smart boy and am completely potty trained. I will sit at the door and whine to let you know I need to go :) - My favorite things to do is playing fetch with my tennis ball and playing with my toys! I also love to be on the couch with my humans and burrow under a blanket! I love exploring the outside and sun bathing too. - I do have some separation anxiety that I need to work on, because I just get attached so fast I never wanna let you go. That will come with time and adaptation, and I will be just fine. - I still have a lot of puppy energy and will want to play a lot, chasing the ball and exploring the yard. I also love long walks!! - I am good with other dogs, especially if they are small. Bigger dogs really scare me, so I wouldn't be a good fit with them. - Even if I am playful and fun, I have nipped before when people have made brusk movements that have scared me. I am also NOT a fan of putting the harness on, as it really really scares me and will try to nip if I'm uncomfortable while putting it on. That being said, I have been working with a trainer who has established a great structure for me to not feel like I have to constantly protect myself, and it's working like a GEM! - I will need to be adopted by a patient and loving individual, willing to work with me on my fears and keeping up the structure my trainer gave me, and lots and lots of love :) If you see me online I am still available for adoption! If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application here: www.hitlivingfoundation.org/adoption-application, and email a video walkthrough of your home and yard to [email protected]. Your application will not be counted as valid without your video. You will hear back from us within a few days.
