About Rudy

If you are into big dogs, then we have a pony-sized dog for you! Meet Rudy our Great Dane that is up for adoption and ready to find his new home. He is a total sweetheart that loves people. He does like to jump up sometimes but would be able to be trained out of that. Otherwise, he is very gentle and likes to walk right beside you. He even does well on a leash and walks calmly with you, the only thing you have to watch out for is that tail. He was owner surrendered so if you would like to know more about his previous home life just keep on reading. Sadly, Rudy joined us at the shelter when his owner was no longer able to care for him by themselves. Thankfully, he was very well taken care of and we even got some information about his life at his previous home. His previous owner informed us that he is housebroken which seems to hold true while he's been here at the shelter, he is used to using a doggie door to go outside, he is used to having a crate in the house that he will sometimes sleep in with the door open. He was also good with new people, kids and even cats. He did chase the cat a little bit but never tried hurting him. We do think that older kids would be better for him due to his large size and the fact that he likes to jump up sometimes. He also has a massive, hard tail that could hurt a small child if they get too close when he is excitedly wagging it. Rudy is a 2-year-old male Great Dane mix that weighs 110 pounds. He is already neutered and microchipped so he could go home the same day he is adopted. He is current on his vaccinations, flea, and parasite prevention.
