About St Nick

Adoption Fee: $125
Lab / Catahoula
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Male | Lab/Catahoula Mix | Senior | ~65lbs This adorable, older gentleman is looking for his furever family. Nick is an incredibly resilient 8-9 year old Lab/Catahoula mix. We rescued him the night before his scheduled euthanasia from a shelter in Texas. Skin and bones, rotting out teeth, heart-worm positive, and as sweet as can be....he was so grateful to be rescued, the first thing he did was give his transport driver a hug. St. Nick is proof that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks as he is smart as a whip! His vocabulary is expanding everyday but he has 'sit', 'come' & 'cookie' mastered. He is crate trained, & he'd love if his new family could continue his leash work/management! He's doing great so far. Nick is the bestest boy, he's potty trained & has never had an accident! This fellow loves to SLEEP & SNUGGLE! He even likes baths and car rides. Nick is missing his front teeth - but he manages to eat dry food and bones just fine. The cutest thing he does is suck on his blankie before falling asleep ?Overall he is a super easy going guy and is 100% love! Patience and trust building are essential for St. Nick - and once he's comfortable, he's all lovin'! We are looking for a quieter household that doesn't have a ton of visitors, so Nick can acclimate and feel safe and loved by his people. Nick would prefer to be an only dog, but could get along with a calmer, older doggy companion. St. Nick is currently completing his heartworm treatment, but can be adopted while he finishes his appointments. He is neutered, microchipped, & up to date on shots. Nick's adoption fee has been sponsored. If interested in meeting St. Nick, please complete an app here: https://dooverdogs.com/dogs/st-nick/ Once approved, a meet and greet will be arranged!
