About Smoke

Smoke has been through a lot in his short couple years. His owner passed away late 2020 and his owner's sister inherited him. Within the next 3 days,she posted him on Facebook and he quickly became quite the talk of the town. She tried to do right by him and rehomed him. Unfortunately, that didn't work out and his new owner rehomed him with someone that claimed to be affiliated with a rescue. Smoke was dumped an hour away and a kind couple found him. He had quite a following by this time and someone recognized his pictures on a lost and found page in Williamsburg MO. On day 3 he was picked up and made his way to my home. He desperately needed to decompress, which he has. He is heartworm positive. He story made such an impression on Troy Vet Clinic's staff that they were able to get his treatment and a years worth of prevention donated to him. He hust started his 1st treatment and is doing very well. Smoke needs a forever home without kids or other pets due to his size and not knowing how he would respond. Better to be safe than sorry. He shows some dominant tendencies but has never been aggressive. He is a cuddler. He would make a great companion for someone who's home through the day. He is kennel trained and housebroken. He's not a chewer or destructive in any way.
