About Rusty & Ducky

This handsome duo is looking for a new beginning. Rusty and Ducky are 2yr old Chihuahua Mixes. They are both fully grown, with Rusty weighing 13lbs and Ducky a tad smaller at 11lbs. These two are bonded at the heart and looking for a family to call their own! They both found themselves lost and afraid with only each other to rely on. Thankfully, with the assistance of HARTT, they were humanely captured and brought to the safety of the rescue. Both boys were scared and in need of medical help. They both were suffering from Cherry Eye, which is another name for a prolapsed third eye lid (the third eye lid protrudes out of the eye). This is uncomfortable for dogs, and they needed surgery to repair it. Now they are happy and healthy boys who are ready for their forever home! They are a little shy at first, but once they warm up both are sweet and goofy little guys. Rusty and Ducky have done well with other small dogs here at the shelter, but will need to meet any potential doggy friends prior to adoption. They both have done well kenneled together here that the shelter but it is unknown if they are housebroken, so they may need some patience as they work on that skill. Rusty and Ducky have done better with women, but with time they warm up with men and are just as happy! Children are unknown, so please bring the whole family down to meet them. They can like to gossip to the neighbors at times as they run and play in their backyard so no apartments please and will need a secure yard! Rusty and Ducky are neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and vet checked. Their adoption fee is $300 for the both of them which includes a complimentary veterinary visit. To potentially adopt them, please come to our shelter location at 1102 W. Hatcher Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85021 anytime during business hours. We are open Tuesday-Sunday from 11AM-6PM. --COVID update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 10 people in the building at a time.
