About Twinkie

Call her Twinkie, Twink, Twinklet or whatever you fancy. When you call her, this little 11-month-old Rat Terrier (with a touch of Chihuahua) will come running! Twinkie spent most of her early days inside, but her elderly owner wanted a better life for her. Now with New Rattitude, Twinkie is learning how to enjoy the good life. She has started pottying outside, taking laps around the yard, and learning to walk nicely on a leash. She really loves her time outdoors. Twink also loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home although she can sometimes be a bit bossy with them. Since Twinkie wasn't exposed to much as a puppy, she's cautious with unfamiliar people and sensitive to quick movements. After she get gets to know you, she'll want to snuggle with you and give kisses. (And already at her adult weight of 14 lbs., she's the perfect size to fit right in your lap.) However, she would not do well with younger children or in a busy household. Twinkie needs a calm home, a fenced yard (to make up for those months of indoor confinement), and one or two canine playmates who won't be easily bullied. Perhaps most importantly she needs someone who has experience with the great big personality that can sometimes dwell inside a tiny dog! This pretty girl is destined to shine if she's with someone who can provide her with patience, love, and a healthy dose of the outdoors. Want to be that person?
