About Trixie

Trixie is a beautiful 1 year old Chihuahua mix who is uniquely brindle and medium sized at 24 pounds full grown. She came to us after HARTT was able to secure her, after her owner was shooing her away from her home with a broom and stated she 'didn't want her anymore'. Poor Trixie was wagging her tail and hoping around like it was a game :( Trixie is an absolute doll who finds herself in need of a very loving forever family. Trixie is shy with new people and does take some time to warm up, but a loyal obedient lovebug to those she adores. Trixie is okay with other small to medium dogs but can be a little human possessive. A dog intro is required with any current dogs in the home to ensure it is a good fit, or she may do best as the only dog in the home where she can be spoiled. Trixie is a timid lady who appreciates mature company and would enjoy a dog savvy home who knows to move slowly. Trixie has done well in a kennel at the shelter, but it is unknown if she is housebroken. She has been doing great with housetraining while here, but in a home she may need patience &/or training. She is working on leash training, so a home with a secure fenced in yard would be best (no chain link). She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and vet checked. Her adoption fee is $260 which includes a complimentary veterinary visit. To potentially adopt this sweetheart , please come to our shelter location at 1102 W. Hatcher Rd.
