About Scrappy

Scrappy is a ruggedly handsome 2 year old Maltese/Terrier who is looking to put a new leash on life in his forever family. Scrappy was recently rescued from the county shelter, where was in rough shape with mats hanging in his face & terrified of leashing or handling. Scrappy has since spent time in a foster home to help him get used to being part of a family. He is still very timid of leashes, but has learned to love going for walks. However, he still must have a securely fenced in yard as he needs time to warm up to his people before they can walk him. Scrappy will make a lovely loyal dog to a patient and gentle person. Scrappy would do best in mature company, so an adult-only home will be his best fit. He also seems to much prefer women to men, and is looking for a home with only women. Scrappy would prefer to be the one and only dog in the home. He has been working on his potty training, but will likely need more reminders as he adjusts to his new home. He has been working hard at overcoming his fears, but currently needs the help of medication for him to feel comfortable. He may be able to stop taking them in the future at the discretion of his future owners and their veterinarian. Scrappy is full grown at 14 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and vet checked. His adoption fee is $220 and comes with a complimentary vet exam.
