About Baxter

Looking for someone with lots of time and LAND for this boy to run! Meet Baxter - A 4-year-old Mini American Shepherd (Mini Aussie). Baxter is in need of an active family who has experience with Australian Shepherds. He NEEDS a PHYSICAL fence. He will ignore an e-collar if he sees a squirrel. He loves car and boat rides, playing ball outside, taking long walks and hikes in the woods. Baxter just completed a four-week stay and train program at West Michigan K9. He would be best as an only dog. He currently lives with another (female) dog, but prefers NOT to share toys or attention. I'm not certain how he would do with another male dog. He would do well with a FENCED yard and with CHILDREN 10 YEARS OLD OR OLDER. He loves his family and has issues meeting new people (he thinks they are endangering his people). It takes him several days to warm up to new people. He is VERY protective of his family. He is an amazing watch dog.
