About HUGH (aka 'Hugo')

*** PENDING ADOPTION !! *** ================================== 'HUGH' (aka 'Hugo') is a shy, sweet, 60 lb., Labrador Retriever mix male who we rescued. Hugh had been a stray, and extremely underweight. He is a very docile boy, he is also initially shy, abit nervous and slightly timid. Hugh was terribly neglected and underweight; and probably had no or little socialization for him to gain confidence. While in rescue, he has begun to blossom and has opened up, and we are counter acting his malnourished state and getting weight on him. He has been around cats and children and does well, however we believe a quiet, gentle home with calm, confident adults, limited stimulation, and no young children would be ideal for him. Hugh also would do well as a companion dog for a gentle, calm, good-natured resident dog who could help him gain further confidence and blossom. HUGH is neutered; fully vaccinated, de-wormed, micro-chipped, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
