About Maggie

Adoption Fee: $180
Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Maggie Maggie is a striking four year old Retriever/lab mix. This gorgeous girl has been through so much trauma in her life, it's hard to share everything. Suffice it to say, we got Maggie after she was found in a horrific hoarding case, where she suffered tremendous neglect and abuse. Maggie, came in with Precious, and both girls were nearly starved to death. Maggie was only 36 pounds when she came in. When she arrived she was incredibly sweet, but she was anxious and nervous. Over the past couple of months with us, Maggie has put weight on and she's starting to calm down. Her personality is coming through every day. Maggie has a lot of energy. She is active and will do best in an active family or with a person who leads an active lifestyle. Maggie is also a pleaser and she will depend on her people to help her feel safe. She is as sweet as they come and despite her terrible ordeals, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She might do best in a family with another dog to give her confidence. She is affectionate and when she trusts you she is all in. As might be expected, Maggie is incredibly treat oriented, which will help in her training. Maggie loves people, and really enjoys one on one interaction and leash walking. She also loves other dogs and gets along well with cats. We love Maggie and it is our greatest hope that we can find the perfect family for her. A family or person, who will love her for the rest of her life and help her understand what kindness and love feel like. A family who can make and keep her safe so that she can thrive and be the gorgeous and fun-loving dog she longs to be. Maggie is a gem and we know whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will be smitten.
