Pit Bull / Lab

My uncle has recently passed a few weeks ago and we have been left with his gf of 20 years, their dog Harley and many other things. Harley is a 5 and a half year old Pitbull Lab Mix. He is the sweetest, most docile dog I have ever met. Very laid back, calm and cuddly. He has some issues that I'm not sure I have the time to correct as I have 2 children, a 7 month old Pitbull and part time job. Firstly, he has lived in a home with 2 older people for his whole life. The house is disgusting as the gf is paralyzed on one side and is unable to do much of anything around the home except to feed Harley and let him out. She has been feeding him Purina Moist and Meaty his whole life which has caused him to be slightly overweight. He's around 110 to 120 pounds. He has never seen a vet. He's never been walked, taught commands other than sit, bathed, or groomed properly. What I have been told about him is that he has went for car rides with my uncle before he passed, he was hosed down outside for a bath last summer, and has had his nails clipped by my uncle a few times. As of right now we went to the vet in Mason today to get him updated on shots, heartworm tested, tested for a yeast or bacterial infection in his ears, ear medication, his hotspots looked at, flea medicine, and his nails clipped. Per the vet, he has allergies and had a allergic reaction to something which made his ears the way they are. He was given a chewable for fleas that is good for 30 days. He has had his first round of boosters and needs to go back in 3 weeks to have his parvo, lepto and distemper shot. He had his rabies shot also. His ears were flushed and medicated too. I gave him a bath with Oster Flea and Tick with Oatmeal which killed about 15 fleas last week. I cleaned out his ears which had tons of yellow hardened crud in them. His ears are swollen due to all of the stuff in them. I flushed his ears and put medicine in them last week. I have switched his dog food to Members Mark Chicken and Rice. I'm compromising with the gf and she is only supposed to be putting in 2 bags of the Purina Moist food in with 2 cups of dry food until the the Purina is gone and then she isn't giving him anymore. He usually eats a full bowl in 2 days. The house is being cleaned and cleared out as much as we can when we are not at work. The gf is going to a older folks home either the end of this upcoming week or beginning of the week after. Harley is such a loveable baby but he's nervous around people when he first meets them and then warms up and wants to play sort of. He doesn't really play with toys, chew on bones, run around outside (honestly he hates the snow), never been around other dogs or cats or anything for that matter. So we have recently found out he is not good with kids, other dogs. I would like to find someone I could keep in contact with and get updates for the gf since she's heart broken about having to give him up.
