About Alfie

Alfie is one of Burlington County Animal Shelter's long-term residents who is looking for his special forever home. He is starting to shut down in the shelter and could use a reprieve. He has a lot of love to give. Once outside of his kennel, he loves belly rubs, playing fetch, and greeting people! He was surrendered last year because he did not love living with children, so his perfect home would be one with adults only. He did live with another dog, but because he's been with BCAS for some time, they suggest a home without other animals at first so that he can decompress. Alf needs someone who will give him time and space to adjust to life again outside of the kennel. He would do excellent with crate training, as he quietly curls up on his bed after a walk. He would love a fenced in backyard where he could play fetch or a home where he could get a few walks a day. He is slowly learning how to give up the ball when playing fetch and while he doesn't always love when fetch ends, he will trade in the ball for a treat! The biggest thing this guy needs is a little bit of patience and understanding. He has a lot to share with someone if given the chance.
