About Oliver

Oliver is a 7 year old Irish Wolfhound Mix with 'Who Knows What' brindle in color. He is the larger dog on the right side of the picture. He look like Chubaka from Star Wars. He has an underbite that gives him a odd look. His hair is long and wirey and feels rough like steel wool, but if he's bathed regularly is much softer. Even better yet, if he's shaved down to 3/8' to 1/2' down to his undercoat then he is velvety soft and the brindle coloring is amazing. He looks kinda like a giant Benji, some similarity of an Airedale or Irish Wolfhound. He's got extremely long ears that will cover across his eyes and has a lot of hair along the ears and chin like a billy goat. He's got his beard or goatee, and when he drinks water, his face is wet as hell when he comes back and puts his chin in your lap (Oh hell no!) He's not as big as a full Irish Wolfhound. His back is about 24' high, head height is about waist high, weighs 70-90 lbs, too big to pick up and weigh. When he was young, he was skinny like a greyhound, but now he is filled out, thick in the chest and back. He is completely sweet, gentle, lovable, wants attention and love constantly, because he wants a companion. He doesn't want to be told to go lay down and not have human interaction. He loves the word 'Outside' and will want to go every time you say it, but not to be alone. He's pretty good about doing his business outside and not in the house. He's use to an enclosed backyard and not much experience on a leash. I left compatibility with other Dogs and cats undetermined because it depends on numerous variables. He's good with Indoor Cats like family, but outdoor homeless cats he may not be. Other dogs is the house usually good except maybe during eating if others are trying to take his food or treats away. If you give attention to another animal, he wants to join in and share the attention or steal it from the other. He has a loud deep bark, but he's not a guard dog or watchdog. He's too friendly and lovable. Oliver is an instant attraction to anyone who he comes in contact with, loved by everyone. Oliver has a very masculine personality, great for a man or a family with a boy that needs a lot more activity than most women will give him. He's great with women, and he was great with Grandma/Nana, but Nana was in a wheelchair and had cancer. Nana's deceased and so Oliver is up for adoption.
