Be sure to read ALL information provided. REX was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs often have only 3 days to be saved. REX is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick disease tested negative for all. He is de-wormed, monthly preventatives and microchipped. At the time of rescue at the end of November 2020, he weighed around 92 pounds and has an estimated date of birth 16 November 2018. We cannot say for sure what breed he is, so we expect families to do their own research on his look and size and decide what breed you think he is and if you have the lifestyle suitable for his needs. * * * NO CATS or SMALL ANIMALS * * * REX-AR was brought back to the rescue in Sebec, Maine on 21 February 2021. We have reduced his adoption fee to $300 in hopes to find him his forever family. Rex was adopted to a wonderful family on 12th January 2021, however, sadly he had a high prey drive towards the families cats and bunnies and so they had to bring him back. Other than this, REX had been wonderful and the family love and adore him, they worked with him on his basic training and he was a great member of the family. This is very difficult for the family. REX is a big, strong boy who is high energy and has a typical stubborn personality. He needs an active family who understands the hunting / working breed mentality and needs. He is very affectionate and loves cuddles and hanging out with his family. He is very content chewing on his bones or hooves and can keep himself entertained. He has been great with other dogs whilst here at the rescue, living in a communal area with several other large breed dogs. Lots pictures and possible video's can be found on his page on the rescue website All dogs use dog doors to go out and do their business or to enjoy the cool, fresh weather in their dog runs or communal areas. We cannot say if a dog is house-trained, however, we expect families to understand that all dogs need a transition period and accidents could happen and training is most definitely needed. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars.
