About LIEUTENANT MOOSE

Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

INTAKE DATE: 1-Feb-2021 A $500 stipend will be offered to the New Hope partner that pulls Lieutenant Moose 111245. Abandoned on a terrace in the freezing cold, the temps dropping, his thinning fur no longer able to keep him warm. LIEUTENANT MOOSE wanted to be a brave soldier, but at 12 years of age, with his frosty face and furrowed brow, he was overcome with grief and worry. Why did his parent leave him there to freeze, no food or water, no blankets to keep him warm. And when were they coming back? The hours ticked by, he started to not feel his paws. And then someone called the police, and they showed up to save his life. He didn't know this, they were complete strangers to him and he didn't know what to do. But they spoke kindly to him, gave him treats, and he decided they must be his friends so he went with them to their car where he was able to crawl into a carrier and relax in the warmth of the heated cabin. Now he is at the shelter, frightened and alone, but trying to be a good boy with the staff and volunteers who take him for walks, and give him treats. He wants so much to trust them, but someone betrayed his trust before, and he is unwilling to risk his old heart again. We know that Moose just needs time, a new family, a committed family, one that will give him the loving retirement home he craves. He will open up, find his smile, and maybe'|just maybe'|his little tail will start to wag again. Are you up for helping the old boy out? If so, hurry and MESSAGE OUR PAGE or EMAIL US at [email protected] for assistance. A staffmember notes: This senior boy was brought in by police after they received a call that a dog was left on a terrace.
