The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Pixie, and I am a little Dachshund girl who is 4 years old and I weigh 10 pounds. I need a quiet home with a permanent, full-time parent and a socialized sibling to learn from. I had severe Alopecia and have lost most of my hair but now I am in a quiet, stress-free environment with lots of love, it is growing back. I am actually a red, long hair Doxie!
