About Lucky

We think Luck may be a Portuguese Podengo. He has all white feet and white at the tip of his tail. He is wire haired. He weighs 11.5 pounds an is 9 years old. He is neutered UTD, microchipped and has recently had a dental. This guy was suggested for euthanasia at the shelter for agression. He did well when Myron picked him up. But when Myron tried to hand him to Tom he freaked out and bit Myron in the process. It turns out that like in most cases Lucky was just afraid. It says in the shelter report that Luck has a history or being poorly managed. ( whatever that means?) I have groomed him , bathed him and he was fine. He will nip if he things your doing something he doesn't like, but he's so much better. He now rolls over for belly rubs and when I put my hand out to pet him he licks me. He is still somewhat timid. He will need a fenced yard for security and a person home a lot to work with him building his confidence. He has been diagnosed with a grade 2 luxating patella in both rear legs. I have not noticed any difficulties with this. Yesterday he was holding one leg up while running. But it may have just been the cold. He does not seem bothered and walks fine.
