*ADOPTION PENDING* Sweet Gracie Love! Sweet Gracie is an approximately 2-year-old, 40 pound blue merle Australian Shepherd mix girl. She's a captivating confectionery blend of playful energy and blue and brown heart eyes. Her foster Mom says Gracie is as eager to please as she is easy to love. Gracie's lively personality reflects her sweetheart-ness! This happy little bonbon craves attention and has no problem making her needs known. She lays her head on the lap of her Person and looks up as if to say, 'I'm here. Let's adore each other.' At night she attempts to coax her way onto the bed with those persuasive puppy eyes. But if you can bring yourself to deny her, she is content to lay nearby. Gracie is prepared to delight in everyone she meets, including fellow four-legged friends! She loves to romp with her foster canine companion and the little charmer mimics the other dog's actions. Gracie gets along with all the foster felines too. Gracie girl's enthusiastic energy is perfect for the Forever Someone ready to help direct it. A smart pup, she would do well in an obedience class or two. Gracie may be taught to become a great running mate. Her vocabulary already extends to include: 'sit', 'down', 'come', and 'settle'. Gracie understands patience is a virtue every darling girl wants to cultivate. She is learning to 'wait' for her turn to go out or to take a sweet treat, until it is 'Gracie's turn'. Gracie has her house training down (she has never had an accident), but three or four areas are a 'work-in-progress'. She will excitedly jump up to place both paws on her Person. 'Off' lets Gracie know she needs to curb her enthusiasm. Gracie will go in her crate to eat, but she is NOT a fan of being closed in. She'd rather roam the house and be near her Person. Given time and training, Gracie will do fine out alone in her Forever home. Gracie is a quick study, and her leash walking skills have improved, though still evolving. Out on walks with her martingale collar on, Gracie will crouch away from cars that go by. Gracie's tendency to cringe a bit from loud noises or sudden unexpected motions will improve with consistent teaching. Car rides make Gracie nervous; she doesn't voluntarily hop in to go. Foster Mom is gradually working with her and tethers Gracie in the car on trips. Gracie will need more experience and patient guidance to discover the fun of car adventures. The little nougat has been known to dig a time or two for the treasure she sees on the other side of a fence; a 'No, Gracie' halts that. Gracie is what an Aussie lover looks for- cute, smart, energetic, and amiable! Perfect for the Person who understands and appreciates dogs, herding breeds in particular. She would be a wonderful and welcome addition to an active family, daily walker or runner with lots of time to lavish love on their dog. What do Gracie's Forever Loves look like? They are energetic, dog experienced, patient folks willing to be consistent in training this sweet girl. Gracie's exuberance makes her best for children 7 and up. Not surprisingly, Gracie's a bit of a joyful jumper, so she needs a home with a fenced-in yard- perhaps with a 6-foot fence. Gracie would love a canine housemate to spend days with. She will be fine with cats. Slow, monitored introductions and meetings are ALWAYS recommended when cats and dogs are getting used to each other. Gracie looks up to say, 'Hello Family! I want to be the center of your world and you can be the center of mine!' Are you ready to give Sweet Gracie Love?
