Wizard (or Wizzy as we call him) may seem like your typical pit-mix in rescue - but he is SO much more than that! He is a loving, goofy boy with a huge heart and beautiful soul. Wizard really is a fantastic dog. He's about 5 years old but still energetic and playful. He loves playing with toys and does not resource guard with humans. He knows basic commands including sit, down, leave-it, drop-it, off, look, place, and short distance 'come'. He walks well on leash and has been excellent on trips to the vet and Home Depot. So you might ask, why has Wizard not found a home yet?! Well, let us briefly explain - Wizard is weary of *some* strangers because he gets fearful. We don't know his past, but assume he had an owner that wasn't so nice to him, and then was living on the street before being brought into the local shelter. You can say his life has been anything but easy. Being unsure of strangers is an issue that many dogs/owners struggle with, but Wizard was lucky enough to find the right help and is doing wonderful! We will help you understand and manage it- as Wizard comes with 3 FREE training sessions so his new family can learn all of the wonderful commands he's been accustomed to while in foster care! (More information about his training will be given to those interested in meeting him.) Most times with rescue dogs, their unwanted behaviors are unknown at the time of adoption. However, with Wizard we are telling you the issues, giving you solutions, offering free training, and sending Wizard home with everything that you will need! Sounds too good to be true? It's not! WE love Wizard, WE advocate for the underdogs, and WE know that his forever family or person is out there! PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FOR WIZARD! Requirements: Adult only household No small animals Quieter home 6 foot fenced in yard Willingness to attend training sessions We are suggesting only 1 other dog in the home if any. The other dog would need to be confident, yet submissive, and between 2 and 6 years old. A female would be a better match for Wizard, rather than a male dog.
