Loki was given to his parent by a 'friend' and it appears that he was thrown headlong into a household with other puppies, kids, the works! For a 12 month old puppy, this is overwhelming. No slow introductions to other household members, no direction on how he was to behave, no structure or focus on his well-being or training. Loki needed a patient parent who would give him the training and socialization, and the boundaries he would need to feel secure, safe and calm. But it was not to be. And now, because of the failure of his family, he is at the shelter. This was not the life he thought he would have, and it certainly isn't the life we think he deserved. All puppies need love, but more importantly, they need to be taught calming exercises like 'down stay' and 'place' so that in the midst of high distraction, they can funnel their energy in a positive way and remain calm. Loki needs a second chance, and he needs to have that second chance with an experienced foster or adopter who understands that he was not at fault for not understanding what was expected of him when no expectations were set.
