About Benjamin

Benjamin is a happy, playful 4-years-young Saint Bernard who loves to give hugs. This boy plays hard and will chase and wrestle with anyone, especially dogs his size. He can be a bit mouthy during play, yet responds well to firm but kind verbal corrections. NO KIDS UNDER 10 YRS OLD due to his size and playfulness. When he isn't playing, Benny is a big snuggle bug and loves his people. Once he learns to trust you, he will always want to be near you. �%A0 After playtime, Benny loves to stretch out on your tile floor to enjoy a long snooze. For the most part, Benny is calm and laid back. A home with another big dog would be great for him, but no small dogs or cats. Benjamin would also do well as an only dog, provided he gets to play at doggy daycare often to keep him well socialized and burn off some of his energy. His favorite game is 'find it', where he gets to go find treats 'hidden' around the house. Benjamin excels at scent work and loves to stop and sniff everything. He has learned sit, wait, give paw, and will let you clean each paw after trips outside. He walks well on the transitional leash and martingale collar. His saintly stubbornness comes through at times though, so breed/giant breed experience a plus. His favorite game is 'find it', where he gets to go find treats 'hidden' around the house. Benjamin excels at scent work and loves to stop and sniff everything. Benjamin would love to roam around the neighborhood, so he REQUIRES A PHYSICAL 5+FT FENCE. Benjamin is heartworm positive & needs a family willing to go through the treatment with him. As long as your dogs are on heartworm preventative, there will be no risk of them contracting it from him. The rescue pays for his medical needs during this time. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines.
