Pearl is a high energy, playful 4yr Bluetick Coonhound who needs a home with other dogs, where she will be able to do what she's bred for, hunt, and an owner with a firm hand and time to work with her. We got Pearl from the pound, where she'd been left for over 3 months, as a playmate for our other dog. She adapted to life on our farm quickly and was super excited to have someone to play and run with. Its evident that she has not been worked with like she should have been and needs someone who knows the breed. She's obedient about 80% of the time but if she sees a cat or other critter then she's obsessed and there's not getting her to respond to commands. She's a beautiful girl with sass, she will actually 'backtalk' if you scold her, and loves to play with other dogs. She really couldn't care less about playing with our children and will let you love on her but is mainly focused on her best dog friends. The reason that we are having to rehome this girl is because she is killing our cats and is becoming more aggressive towards any animal that is smaller than her. We are having to keep her penned up and out to run with supervision and that's not a good life for her. She is great with all of the neighborhood dogs but they are all males, I'm not sure her dominate personality would allow her to be around other females but we just don't now. I wouldn't recommend smaller children, either, as she doesn't know her size.
