LOVABLE 5 YEAR OLD 'SKYE' 105929 TO BE KILLED MONDAY 1 FEBRUARY AT BROOKLYN NYC ACC z%8F PLEASE MESSAGE ME OR COMMENT BELOW IF YIU CAN FOSTER SKYE TO SAVE HER LIFE. - 5 yrs old, 65 lbs - Hiuse trained - Loyal and loving to family members - No bite history - No resource guarding - Likes older children. Not tolerant of toddlers How is this dog around other dogs? Owner stated that she is very tolerant and respectful around other dogs. Owner stated that she plays gently with other dogs. To know her is to love her! Beautiful Skye with marshmallow markings, butterfly ears, and golden amber eyes leaves an impression on the heart like no other. She arrived devastated over losing her family, and frightened at being handed over to the shelter. It only took some kindness, and encouragement and Skye is now finding the will to trust again. What you will find in Skye is unending companionship. She is forever extending her paw. She has a gentleness about her that is compelling and endearing. She prefers quiet, calm and loving environments. Her prior home remarked that her behavior in a home lacks nothing. She has no bite history, no resource guarding house trained, loves children, friendly to all. Like nearly every abandoned family pet, she is hesitant, lonely and doesn't understand why she is no longer wanted. If you have a soft spot for a doggie who bonds and connects with steadfast loyalty, Skye is your girl. Her photos reveal her worried eyes and posture, evidence of the sentimental heart she has. Her video further demonstrates her soft and tender temperament. This unassuming beauty has an open heart, old soul and wishes to find a forever home to belong to. WHAT MY FRIENDS AT ACC SAY ABOUT ME: 1. I lived with children in my previous home but we did not always get along. 2. I need a home where there are no other dogs. 3. I am looking for a home with a patient person. 4. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. 5. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. 6. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. 7. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. 8. I'll need daily interaction with you as I get used to my new life. 9. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together! BEHAVIOR: SAFER ASSESSMENT: Date of assessment:29-Oct-2020 BEHAVIOR: Summary: Skye appears fearful and wary of handlers when entering the behavior room. She is placed on a drag leash and is allowed to wander; she wanders the room with a lowered head/body. She approaches all handlers to sniff then moves away. Skye then sits down on the couch and begins to tremble and look away from handlers. She does not approach when called over and continues to tremble. Out of concern for her overall stress level, a handling assesment is not attempted at this time. DOG-DOG: Summary: According to Skye's previous owner, she is reported to be very tolerant and respectful of other dogs. 10/27: Handlers did not attempt to collar Skye or remove the old collar that she was wearing, due to her warning behaviors - growling, baring teeth, snapping when being removed from the kennel. Due to a lack of greeters, a gate greet is conducted. Skye is introduced to a novel male dog, she rushes forward at the gate and begins to growl and bare her teeth. The gate is not opened and the interaction is ended at this point. 10/28: Sky was successfully collared today.
