About Sawyer

Adoption Fee: $50
Black Mouth Cur
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Sawyer is a 3yo Black Mouth Cur. I adopted her 18 months ago from a Navy couple that had her since a pup. I've faught with this decision, but I have to finally do it. I need to move out of state and I wont be able to keep her. She is a great Dog for someone who spends time outdoors, the Hunting breed's instincts are very pronounced in Her. Which is good and bad. The bad end is she is very aggressive twoards ANY other animal. Dog, cat, bird, mouse. Doesnt matter, if it isnt human and it moves, she wants after it. Which is why I haven't tried till now to rehome her. I have professional experience in Kennels, training and Daycare, and Im worried about putting her in a situation where my warnings wont be taken seriously. I dont want another animal to be hurt, and Her put down for it. She is sweet as pie to people, and It seems to disarm them, where they cant imagine the other side im speaking about until its too late. She has been great with my small nieces, and has a third sense that kicks in with a 10yo developmentally disabled neihbor. He is her favorite person it seems. Though because she has aggression issues in other areas, i would recommend the same caution with kids; Even though she has never shown aggression twoards any with me. She would be an amazing farm dog. Or anyone who loves to be outside with a companion. She is loyal, learns quickly, and though she didnt have even basic training until I got Her, she learns and follows commands quick. She deserves a better home than I can provide right now, and my attempts to move myself are making it hard to keep Her. She should be with someone with experience, and no other animals. And of course that makes it that much more difficult. I payed a $400 adoption fee when I got her, plus added all the items below. I'd ask a nominal $50 fee, but that can be negotiated. I have several items that would go with her: Her dog bed 15' Training leash 3' regular leash Flat collar 2.5mm Herman Spengler prong collar 2x Harnesess She's chipped. Bag full of assorted toys, bones, etc. Whatever food is here. If She sounds like a possible furry family member addition to your household, please call and we can discuss things furthur.
