Rocky is a gorgeous 16 month old Great Dane/Antolian Shepherd mix. He came from a TN rescue who found him beaten and malnourished. He was adopted by a compassionate woman in Delaware who read his horrific story and came to his rescue. But, sadly, he needs someone better suited to caring and training a large dog. She is a petite woman in size, and literally not capable of handling him. Rocky is working through aggression issues due to abuse he suffered as a puppy, and fortunately is making progress. He was recently introduced to a local K-9 trainer who feels Rocky has the potential to be a good house pet. It seemed when Rocky was in the hands of the trainer, he felt the confidence of the K-9 officer and knew who was in control. With his owner, we believe he senses her demeanor which probably makes him stressed as well. Rocky lives in a 1-person household and no real experience with children or other pets. He is up to date on all shots, house and crate-trained, and would love to have a nice yard where he could run. Rocky needs to have a master with patience as he works through his behavioral issues. This poor dog is just a big boy with a big heart. Hoping that his rough start in life will soon be behind him and he will be blessed to find a place to call home.
