About Sadie

Spunky Sadie is a 2 year old, 40 pound Beagle/Hound mix, who is sweet as sugar! Sadie is super friendly and wants to be everyone's best buddy. She loves getting out on long walks and meeting new people and other dogs, and is working very hard on her leash skills. She is also learning to enjoy car rides as she now understands that there will be something fun to do at the end of the trip. Sadie is house trained and well behaved in the home. Alert and curious, she always wants to know what goodies and new adventures are hidden behind a gate or just out of reach on a counter. She is playful and enjoys her toys, but doesn't show any interest in fetching sticks. Sadie is not fond of her crate and much prefers a nice soft dog bed near her people. Her appetite is good and she is currently eating three meals a day in her foster home to gain some much needed weight. Sadie would do well in a home with a fenced in yard where she would be able to safely explore her surroundings. She is great with other dogs and children, although she is very strong and may be better with older children who can understand and encourage her enthusiastic nature. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
