Adoption Fee: $750
Collie / White Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Be sure to read ALL information provided. A PET IS FOR LIFE - THINK ABOUT THE INVESTMENT! NOQRAH was saved by a small rescue based in Kabul, Afghanistan. She was saved from the streets, neglected and starving to death. Once she was deemed healthy, Noqrah and her friend Khushi were flow into the US where they waited in a boarding facility for transport up to Maine. They arrived at GaDaH on 25th January 2021. Noqrah was spayed on 4 February 2021, she has current rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heartworm and tick disease tested negative, monthly preventatives and microchipped. At the time of her export/import examination she weighed she weighed around 20.00 pounds and has an estimated date of birth 15 July 2020. We cannot say for sure what breed she is, so we expect families to do their own research on her look and size and decide what breed you think she is and if you have the lifestyle suitable for her needs. For all that this sweet girl has been through, she is doing amazing, to think just over a week ago she was in Afghanistan, endured 48 hours traveling to US, then in a boarding facility for a few days and then driven for 1.5 days up to Maine and is a happy-go-lucky girl. Noqrah is all puppy, she is bouncing around so excited she doesn't know what to do. She loves being with all the dogs and is enjoying charging around outside chasing and playing. She has not had any training and so housetraining as well as obedience should be expected and planned for. Noqrah can be possessive with her food, toys and treats, this is most likely due to many reasons, the main ones being she had been found starving and she is not used to sharing, so where other animals are concerned supervision should be carried out and feeding not close to each other. She is not aggressive just doesn't want to share and will snap at a dog trying to get what she has. Since she is young, this is easily worked on and whilst here at the rescue she is learning with the other rescue and house pack that this behaviour is not needed. We are looking for a family that go on hikes, walks, treks, adventures, to the beach, the lake, anywhere and everywhere that is fun and would give this beauty a wonderful fun filled life. She is going to need training, she is not fully house-trained, but does use pee-pads if they are put down - she just needs to learn to let her family know she needs to go outside. Noqrah is going to be a medium/large high energy dog and so she needs an active family who already have an adventurous and active lifestyle they can incorporate her into. She is a smart girl and so training and continued mental stimulation is also very important to make sure she gets the healthy, both physical and mental lifestyle that she needs and deserves. More pictures and possible video's can be found on his page on the rescue website. You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the '3 Point Rule' Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3 month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. All dogs are fed Rachael Ray Nutrish PEAK Natural Dry Dog Food, Grain Free Western Grasslands Recipe with Bison. Rachael Ray Nutrish Peak Dog Food receives the Dog Food Advisor's second-highest tier rating of 4.5 stars. Noqrah i is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $750, the higher adoption fee is to help cover the costs of her going through all the import/export certifications and the cost of her flight, boarding and transport to the rescue. This fee, obviously doesn't come close to covering these costs, but is a help. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. Due to borders being closed, it is up to families to call the US and Canadian borders to find the current details on border crossing. Animal Welfare is deemed essential in the US, but quarantine rules entering back into Canada must be followed. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process.
