Teddy is a 13-year-old, 59-lb border collie mix currently being fostered in Ocala, FL (Marion County). Don't let this girl's age fool you ... she loves to play ball! She has spurts of energy where it's all about the ball; although, she doesn't appreciate it if another dog comes along and tries to steal it. She only likes balls. She has absolutely NO interest in plush toys/dog toys. When she's not bringing you a ball, she enjoys taking naps on a comfy pillow or, best of all, belly rubs. She will sass you ever so politely and ask for more attention or maybe a delicious morsel. Teddy does have some arthritis in her hips and has to bunny hop over small steps; so a home with no steps is needed. She also prefers walking on area rugs or runners if the floor is slippery. Teddy has four large tumors; two under her front legs and two under her back legs. The vet believes they are fatty tumors. She also needs to lose a few pounds, but she is working hard on that. Teddy will need time to adjust to her new home. She requires a home with a fenced-in yard, in addition to one without small children or active dogs. She would do fine as an only dog. Teddy is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all vaccines. As a senior, Teddy's standard adoption donation is $250, but it is only $150 for a senior adopter 65+ through our Seniors for Seniors program.
