About Izzy

Needs ��%BD'� Securely Fenced yard ��%BD'� No Cats. Izzy is a beautiful, loyal and adoring companion. Izzy is a 2 year old 45 lb English Setter/Spaniel mix with a beautiful silky coat and adoring gaze. True to her breed, she's affectionate and joyful. She loves being with humans, and despite her size, will try to curl up in your lap. She's also incredibly playful. Izzy will chase a ball all day long and never grow tired of the game. She loves toys and anyone that will play tug of war with her. This active girl needs a home where she can have plenty of outdoor space to run around. Izzy is house trained with regular outdoor breaks and sleeps through the night in her crate. Like most setters, she needs to sniff everything, but she's been easily dissuaded from jumping up to pull morsels off of the countertop. Eager to please and very intelligent, Izzy takes direction and redirection nicely and is quickly learning voice commands. She does well with other dogs and is suited to be with children. She is currently jumping up for joy when she sees new humans, but is quickly learning that it's not polite! Izzy really loves being with her people, so she would do well in a house where someone is home for most or all of the day. She settles into her crate when her foster family is ready for bed. During the day, she prefers to lay at the feet of someone whose Zoom calls and keyboard strokes can gently lull her to sleep. She just melts when you pet her and gives the sweetest hugs. Izzy needs a family who will be diligent about training her and getting her outside to play. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
