About Michael

Poor, sweet Michael was (we believe) abandoned by the previous inhabitants of our house. I spotted him a couple of times after moving in, but he never got close. (The handyman later told me that Michael once jumped into his track and STOLE his sandwich. If you know this cat, he had to be on death's doorstep to be bold enough to accomplish such a feat.) After a couple of months, he showed up at my basement walkout glass door, clearly engaged with my cats. I began feeding him every night and morning. It took him about a week to warm up to me and trust me, but now he knows his name; he comes when called, and he sleeps in the heated sunroom. ALL he wants to do is love and be pet. I let him in the house from time to time, and he's been great. He prefers to potty outside, but will use his litter box in a bind. He's a wonderful cat, and he's quite docile. In fact. he shows up promptly before dusk each night (though he never roams far) to be let into the sunroom so that that two other neighbourhood mean cats don't show up and beat him up. I'm moving into a small townhome in a few weeks, and it's near a highly trafficked area, and I know he wants to be indoor/outdoor. I'm concerned that he won't adjust well. And three cats in a townhome is a little much for me. Maybe give Michael a chance?? He has the Maine Coon boxy jaw, big paws, and tufted ears, but he's smaller. I think he's between 1-2 but I don't know. He's clearly been a little stunted by the neglect and malnourishment from that time period, but he's a total lover; he gets along great with my two cats, and I know he can't wait to have a permanent home. He will be quick to show you how thankful he is. I have had him tested for everything, vaccinated, and microchipped. He just needs to be neutered (and loved).
