Name: Tank Age: 2 years Breed: Great Dane Mix 75# (not neutered) Sex: Male Location: Burnet County, Texas Vet Info: Not current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative (per owner.) Owner Info: Per owner, Tank was adopted as a puppy by her ex husband and became blind shortly after adoption, for reasons unknown. She is now taking care of Tank by herself and finds it a challenge. She now lives with a roommate with a child and other dogs and Tank is not adjusting well. Tank was raised with 2 other dogs and he did fine with them, but is now having some difficulty adjusting to new dogs. Tank seems to adjust better to the female dogs than the male dog. He gets along fine with the cat and hamster. Tank is an indoor dog with the run of the house. He is house broken and but not leash trained. Tank knows the following commands 'Chill out' or 'lay down' with a tap- to lay down.' Tank is described as nervous, good with adults and children, female dogs, cats and other small animals. Tank can be aggressive towards some dogs but will let the cat eat with him. Tanks's owner reports 'He's never bitten anyone, he (Tank) has snapped at someone once. He's usually fine with all adults. There was one time he didn't like a guy that came to the house, he started barking and growling%BD'%BD|.My roommate grabbed his back when he started growling and he snapped in the direction of her. Other than that I have had no issues with him and humans.'%BD%A0 'He's good with kids, he (Tank) smells them and usually runs away. Sometimes if he's spooked and trying to find his kennel he will run into anything in his path including kids, but he hasn't been aggressive towards them.' 'When he (Tank) gets in a new environment he kind of shuts down until he gets warmed up to everything.' Does anyone have room for Tank? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
