About Cockatiel: Parker

Experienced bird owner only!! Parker loves to sing, chirp, and whistle. He loves to be around other birds, but he does not like them in his space or birds that try to snuggle up to him. He is not hand tamed and is very scared of peoples hands, but calls for you if you leave the room. He will bite very hard, breaking skin, if cornered. His first response is to walk or fly away, but again if cornered or if he needs 'rescuing' from a place he landed he will bite. He tells you it's time for bed at about 8pm and likes his cage to be partly covered with a nightlight on. He wakes up around 7am-8am, whistling beautifully. He needs more training and time than I can provide. He absolutely will not go to a home that has dogs or cats, because I want him to have more out of cage time. I would prefer a home with other birds. Before coming to me, he was used as a breeder bird, eating only seeds and living in a travel carrier sized cage. He is now eating pellets and we're weaning him off seeds, he loves fresh foods lile spinach and kale. I will be VERY picky finding his new home. I am in no rush, I want the very best for him.
