About Babe

Babe is a 8 month old Australian Shepherd. She isn't fully deaf but she is hearing impaired. She is also vision impaired due being born a Double Merle. What is a Double Merle? If you breed two dogs that both have the merle gene the puppies have a 25% chance of being born with two copies of the gene. Babe has two copies of the gene which caused her to lack pigmentation. The lack of pigmentation resulted in her pink nose, white coat, and hearing and vision impairments. She gets around great after she maps out her environment! She is an energetic girl that needs an active family. She does have a bit of anxiety which is normal in special needs dogs. She is a sweet girl who is eager to please.
