About Yulia

Meet Yulia. Yulia came to us looking rough. And by rough I mean we were like, umm - hope a vet can fix this type of rough. It ends up she had two types of skin infections that with medications and specialized baths were able to clear up very well. Yulia is 1 year old and 2 months and weighs about 40 pounds. So, we wish we knew more about her past but by what we know, it wasn't great. She is VERY dog aggressive, NOT human aggressive. I wonder if when she was younger she had to fight for her right to live. You know the type - people with dogs everywhere and food thrown out for dinner (probably enough to feed like 3 dogs and there is about 12). The type that was probably smaller than the others and got 'picked' on a lot. Yulia, has been so friendly with all the staff and visitors and not showed any signs of aggression with humans. We do know that in her past she was around kids and didn't have any problems with little humans either. So why so aggressive with other dogs? What is she scared of? What are we missing to this story? Yulia is the type that will sit here at the shelter because people do not want to take a chance on her. Rescues usually deal with MULTIPLE dogs in each foster so it is usually impossible to reach out to a rescue on a DOG aggressive situation. Yulia needs a couple or a young adult to show her that the world is a great place and that she can learn to trust again. Doesn't she deserve that? She is still just a toddler!
