Hi, my name is GLADYS ID#A4524467. I am a spayed female, Brindle and brown Australian Shepherd mix. The shelter staff think I am about 10 years old, and I have been at the shelter since January 10, 2021. Gladys is in pretty poor condition. Here are a few notes about her: 1/10/2021 INTAKE ASSESSMENT Allowed vaccines with light restraint, allowed all handling, soft body. 1/10/2021 OBSERVATION Friendly, allowed all handling and petting, due to age went very slow and walked slow on leash, be careful when picking the dog up, lump possibly on chest area, 1/13/2021 EVALUATION Friendly and affiliative. Unsteady getting up and stepping off bed in kennel. Slow and steady on the walk to the yard. Soft entrance; appropriate greeting. Calm and social throughout time in the yard. 1/15/2021 WALK Gladys was lethargic in kennel and mildly shaky. At first she showed no interest in coming out. I sat with her a bit and she came out. She walks slowly. We found a quiet place to just hang out for a bit then continued walking. She actually walked faster toward the end of the walk. She welcomed affection. Easy kennel return. Gladys has been added to Urgent Medical: she is aged, in overall poor health, has difficulty standing/rising, has dental disease, and reported to have had a possible seizure. Dog will need to be seen by an outside veterinarian for a full work up and to determine course of treatment. Dog may be added to the euthanasia list on 1/20/21 or sooner if warranted. Please consider giving this sweet girl a home to either live out her days in love and comfort or give her the medical treatment to get her well. 'URGENT' If you have no breed restrictions, please call ASAP = 520-800-4633.
