About Pixie

***Sorry, we cannot adopt outside the Southern California area***.Hello, my name is Pixie! I am a Beautiful Mainecoon/ Turkish Angora mix, born May of 2020. When I was just a week or two old, I was abandoned on the side of the road. A Good Samaritan picked me up & noticed right away I was in desperate need of help. When at the vet, it was noted that I was extremely underweight, malnourished, had an horrible upper respiratory infection & a deep gash to my throat. The Samaritan that had rescued me, ended up leaving me behind at the front door of the vet. Now, with all my health issues, I had to add homelessness to the list. Thankfully, the vet I was at, works with some rescues. The rescue contacted my now foster mom & sent her a picture of me. From what my foster mom has told me, she knew at that moment she had to help me. The first week, was very hard. My mom had watch & feed me around the clock. I had days where I could barely open my mouth, due to the pain from the gash in my neck. I couldn't swallow & had to be force fed. There were times where my mom was unsure that I was going to make it. But I am a strong girl & I powered through. My neck was healing well but my upper respiratory infection, despite being on antibiotics, had progress to where it caused glaucoma in my eye. After many visits with an eye specialist, he came to the conclusion that my eye needed to come out. This December, I finally had my eye removed. Now that I am healthy & had my eye removed, I am ready for my forever home. I love to play with my kitty pal River. My favorite toy if my stuffed mouse that I love carrying around with me. Since I was hand raised, I am very sweet & love to be carried and hugged. I would like to be adopted with my friend River.
