About BEAR

Dachshund
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This adorable guy will need a speical home, dog experience is prefered. The person adopting Bear would need to understand his needs and work with him on his imperfections. Bear is definitely a ladies man and prefers women over men. He's also a cuddle bug and just wants to be held all day or at least sit next to you. He's very vocal! If you pick him up he grumbles and moans. If you walk too far away he will bark, if you aren't walking fast enough for him he will howl. He definitely likes to let you know how he feels ! LOL Bear does not like to be in a kennel but will go in begrudgingly, and he will scream and howl- its becuase he has separation anxiety so someone home most of the time to ease his worry is what we are looking for. He walks pretty well on a leash and listens when called. He's great with big and small dogs and enjoys playing ball. He's very friendly with people but will growl and nip if another dog approaches, he's protective of his people. NO CATS! He will lunge and pull on the leash. Bear would like a quiet home without young kids as he tends to get very timid if things get too loud and he will hide. Older mellow respectful kids are ok. Bear needs a home with at least another confident dog/dogs in the home. He is a quick learner by observing what the other dogs are doing, and he feels most confident in a pack setting. Bear is almost completely house trained with only a few accidents. He is learning to use the doggy door in his foster home.
