About Amara

Amara was brought into the clinic I work at to her euthanized after biting her male owner when he kicked her. I took her as a short-term foster but she is running out of time. I believe she is pure-bred, but not sure. She is very guarding, and needs work on manners. She gets bored easily and loves shredding dog toys. She needs to be in a home in which she is the sole pet. I think she will do very well and be very protective of her owners, as is in her nature. Akita's are not pets for first-time owners. They just aren't. She will require a slow and gentle hand, but also a firm one. She needs to know that she is not alpha of the house.
